The Natural Museum | Jabal Moussa
Seven hectares of cultural and natural heritage lies in Jabal Moussa Biosphere reserve.
New trails are being marked each year by the Association of the Protection of Jabal Moussa, making the discovery even wider.
This Sunday, May 20th, Moon Monkey is going 44 km away from Beirut, up towards Jabal Moussa biosphere reserve.
About the Hike
The hike is a loop. It starts at Baydar el Shok in Qehmez. We start hiking up to Ornet el deir, where we can find an old Roman village perched at the top of hill.
We then hike up towards Ornet el Mzar, the highest point of JM, at 1600 m above sea level.
The slopes lead us towards the other side of the mountain, topping out Nahr Ibrahim valley, and Ftouh Kesrouane.
We then hike up and down towards the starting point, passing through the blooming Peony Trail, between sinkholes!

How to get there?
Meeting point at Chez Paul - Ghazir highway, at 9 am SHARP.
We can share each other’s cars. So carpooling is an option.
What to bring?
• Hiking shoes, hiking pants, hiking poles, hat.
• Sunglasses.
• Sunscreen protection.
• Fleece, or a windproof jacket.
• 2L of water.
• Garbage bags.
• Snacks (dried fruits, dark chocolate, energy bars, Tuna can etc…).
Oh, and most of all, wear your adventurous and good vibes!
