Mountain Traverse

Mountain Traverse

For all of you who want to take it a bit further, push their limits, and see what it feels like to get outside of the comfort zone, this is your chance.

A long trek in the high mountains of Tannourine and Bqaa Kafra, that starts at 1600m and peaks at 2400m covering around 20km in distance.

About the village

Tannourine holds a variety of flora and sceneries. From the oldest Cedars trees to the high cliffs, and even beautiful panoramic slopes! It’s 85km away from Beirut and 30km away from Batroun. (40 min)

| About the trail

The trail is mainly rocky with a dominant barren terrain surrounded by breathtaking sceneries. It passes through “Tallet Mar Semaan” to “Aayn el Wardeh” where we can get a glimpse of the Tannourine Cedars Reserve, then uphill to “Kniset el Rab” which is the highest church in Lebanon that sits at 2400m above sea level, which will be our highest point. We then hike back downhill to the starting point following a loop. Parts of the trail constitute the military training track of “Barracks to Barracks”.
