Jabal Moussa All Around
This Sunday, October 28th, Moon Monkey is going 44 km away from Beirut, up towards Jabal Moussa Natural Museum, hiking it all around!
Seven hectares of cultural and natural heritage lies in Jabal Moussa Biosphere reserve.
New trails are being marked each year by the Association of the Protection of Jabal Moussa. Those trails link somehow, creating one big loop (Jabal Moussa’s new baby, yet not so tiny), allowing us to discover Jabal Moussa All Around.
Oh and just for the notice, it's getting colourful in there too!
//About the Hike/
The hike is a loop. It starts at Baydar el Shok in Qehmez.
Up towards Ornet el Mzar, the highest point of JM, at 1600 m above sea level.
We then reach Hadrian’s Incline leading us to the Shepherds Encounter trail via the Cerris trail!
The slopes then link us to the other side of JM in Yahchouch, at Mar Geryes old church.
The approach changes on the other side! A narrow path then shows up, holding a view over Chouwen Lake and el Ebreh village. We then find ourselves in Broqta passing by The Violet trail and The Peony trail, where we loop back to the starting point in Qehmez.
Whenever we pass all these trails, we will be among the first visitors to be given a certificate from Jabal Moussa Nature Reserve Association, for crossing the whole loop!
